I find myself between a rock and a hard place lately; I don't like the look of frag racks, but my hermits are repeatedly bulldozing the few frags I have around my tank.

I came up with a solution tonight in a fake rock frag rack made of eggcrate, foam and rubble. I intend to pick up some materials tomorrow and get cracking later this week, but in the meantime has anyone else done this in the past?

Cheers!

I know Russ of Saltwater Critters had a frag rock that had holes for plugs, and it came with plugs that looked like the surface of the rock. He showed it to me when I picked up my booster pump. It was pretty cool. Check with him if they have it up on their site.

Assuming these are frags you want to sell at some point? (or I'd imagine you'd be gluing them onto your reef)

You could upgrade the light over your sump (if necessary)and keep them down there?

Just looked it up: http://www.saltwatercritters.com/inc/sdetail/3982. Nice to know that others have had this same thought, but I think I'd still want to make something a little more like a mobile shelf. Thanks for the tip!

I would use the rack to hold frags that I plan to give away (love the DBTC concept, hope to never sell a frag as long as I am in this hobby :)) and to hold frags I get from others until I am ready to glue them down. A frag tank or sump would be ideal, of course, but I don't have either. I think that this idea works nicely for anyone with an AIO nano... I'll update once I start on it.
