rock bottom

i was contemplating doing a bare bottom tank till i had the idea if making my own rock bottom instead of sand ...this will be very thin textured rock look does anyone know how to do this and the pros and cons
i will need a step by step what to use and how to...also pics would be great thanks

I did this years ago to a freshwater tank, I cut a piece of foam cut to size then used greatstuff spray foam made some tunnels and caves then spray painted it , but that was freshwater
