Smoked acrylic for sump ?? Yes/No

I was thinking of making my own acrylic sump for my 75. I have access to 2 4' x 8' x 1/4" sheets of smoked acrylic. Is there any reason, other than visibility that this couldn't be used to make the sump/refugium? I have these in my shed and based on the price I just got for 2 sheets of clear you can forget it Lol.

Any thoughts?

Yeah u can use it its better to isolate the sections of your sump with tinted acrylic the refugium light will make coraline alege grow on your pumps,skimmer etc but i would go with clear acrylic on the front

I have a sump like that black acrylic on 3 sides and clear in the front I'm actually going to sell if you are interested.

Thanks bud but that defeats the purpose of me having 2 full sheets that cost me nothing Lol. Would love to see a picture of the sump though to see what it looks like with the clear front.
