As everyone in the area knows. yesterday and today has been pretty warm and pretty much the first day warm enough in the house that the water temp has gone up. My chiller kicked on but did nothing. Im guessing i have a leak or need a recharge.

Does anyone know a place I can take it? Contemplating if its even worth it. Already looking at who's selling a used one but If there is a place in queens or long island that repairs them for relatively low cost then i would definitely rather do that.

thanks

Choices:

1)throw approx $200 to have someone charge it to see if it works. maybe it does or doesnt, maybe it last the season or only a day. If it has a leak you'll spend more than the chiller is worth new to fix it unless its a loose fitting or cap.

2). Spend $200-300 and buy equipment to attempt charging it yourself and it still may not work and it may not be easy for someone to tell if it is working well and it may all leak out but u will have the equipment to charge it again but if its a nig enough leak then you'll just be throwing money away

3) spend that $200 or more on a new one

A chiller should never leak and refrigerant does not lose its potency over time. It is a sealed system unlike a car a/c system that has rubber hoses and clamps.

Most chillers are throwaways and they don't even have a place to hookup to so that someone can recharge the refrigerant to its proper level. There are piercing valves that some use to charge a sytem but they always end up leaking and it doesnt fix the leak that was the cause of the refrigerant loss to begin with.

I just want to say that cooltanks may be great at what they do or good guys but i will never know because THEY DONT CALL ME BACK! I have emailed them three times and never got an email response. i have called them 3 times and only received one call from them on my voicemail on a SUNDAY! I tried calling them back and got their voicemail. They never responded. I understand maybe they are very busy or whatever but you can still return emails or return a call. I'm still a potential customer and human being. I dont know if anyone knows them personally but this is how I feel about them.
