I'm hating my Hanna Phosphate Checker

I literally used my Hanna phosphate checker three times yesterday and every time it came up with the different number. The numbers weren't even close. It's beyond frustrating. Sticking with my salifret kit from now on.

i got a bad batch of regents about 8 months ago. i have the big hanna meter and seems consistent, i hear the egg is useless.

Mine works best when I clean the vials with some sort of lens cleaner. If I just wipe away the finger prints with just a rag I get different numbers

My readings are very consistent but I got the first batch really bad. I sent them an email with all details and they sent me a new batch within 3 days free of charge.

I get a pretty consistent number and have never had an out of whack reading. It may be close to or double the reading but as long as I am close to or near, 0.02, then I am happy.

i agree with duke finger prints or a bad rag can leave the vial not clear enough for a good reading, as the hannah reads off a light inside so if theres anything on the glass vial the reading would be off.

vial has to be super clean in and out.

Always make sure the last thing you do before putting the vial inside the egg is to clean the outside to remove all sort of lint/fingerprints.

I just purchased a new batch of regent and the readings have been on point. I guess there are bad batches?
