Skimz protein skimmer

p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; } This is my first large reef tank, I had success with a 20 long about 10 years ago. I now have a 240 long 8x24x25 set for delivery. I'm looking for a good skimmer, my search has brought me to Skimz Oval DC SV223 Internal rated roughly about 520 gallons. Does anyone have any advice on this unit before I pull the trigger.

I had the oval, not impressed with the open volute pump design. Didn't pull much water and had to restart the pump every couple of days. I now have a ro regal int and its a beast. Skimz I think was way overrated as far as volume goes.

wow thank DK. Im setting up a 240 long, trying to get all my equipment before tank arrives. Ill take a look @ regal.

skimz sk181 kone or sm181 would be a better options! the eden es fixed flow pumps used in the skimz skimmers are much easier to dial in and last a hell of a long time!

sorry auto spell sk201 kone or a sm201 non dc models are better! I currently have a sk201 kone and a sk181 kone!
