This is my first tank running a chiller we have a 1/6 HP on our 65g ... was set out of box to 78 but it constantly kicks on and off and brings it down to 77 which is great so I thought within a few minutes the chiller LCD temp reads 79 and it?s kicking back on ...I have it set to 79 now and it hasn?t turned on at all ... I know optimal is 78 but at what cost to have the chiller constantly running ? Seems like natural temp right now is 79 for tank etc ...

either pumps and or other equipt is causing heat in your system. most chillers have a 2 degree flux, also what is controllering your heaters ?

Turns out I had a hidden heater in the built in filtration area fighting he chiller , once I turned that off it?s been maintained 78 and maybe goes on once an hour due to the room temp and tank heat from lights etc ...
