so i have 2 spider reflectors with single end sockets and two wires coming from them.

if i were to purchase an electronic ballast is the wiring as simple as connecting two wires from the ballast to the socket and plug the other end of the ballast into the wall?

i am good at working with 12v, but i dont want to mess with 120v

Connect the black wires (from socket to ballast) and the white wires (from socket to ballast) Green from the ballast goes to ground. The ballast will usually come with a grounded cord to plug into the the wall. You can get these to connect the wires

or use wire nuts and electrical tape. That's how I've wired up the last few reflectors and ballasts I've had.

There are a few electricians on here and others more knowledgeable on wiring so I'll let them weigh in.
