My gold stripe maroon pair lived in your regular old rose bubble tip years ago and laid eggs like clockwork right under the ledge where the nem made home. Not sure what kind of clowns you are looking at but the Australian black ocellaris I have now show zero interest in my bubble tip. Tried pictures on the glass and still nothing.
U don?t need anemones at all. Mine host in zoas and lay eyes every three weeks for over a year now. I?ve only ever had Martin?s host in anemones. Never other types.
