Today i bought a potters pygmy angel fish. When I put it in the tank, I noticed that my flame angel was going after it and scaring it away. Is this normal amongst angel fish? Is it going to continue happening or will it stop after a while? I dont want the new fish getting bit/ die because of the flame angel. Anything I should do? Please help

+1 If you can't catch the potters and put him in another tank and give him a chance to recover, may be a good solution. If you can't or don't want to move him then you may try changing your aqua-scape. Rearranging things will give the potters a better chance. Angels are territorial and the flame rules right now. Changing things around will take the flames attention away from the potter and turn it to getting use to his new setting. Just something that has worked for me. Good luck, Neil

Totally agree Potters should be Qt. I have one and took a few to learn about this angel. Also can be kept in Sps corals. A lot has to do with how they were caught and shipped and eating. Putting two angel in same tank is not good idea and not at least same time. Potters going to be stressed and chasing will not stop. How big is your tank. I would take him out. It has been done keeping two different angel in same tank. Potters are hardy like the other angels. But first they must be eating. And free of diseases to be put in your main tank. So two strikes already. Let us know how's he's doing.

These angels are in your 30G tank?
You need to rehome one of them. It is not suggested that pygmy angels be housed together, most especially in a 30G tank. They are much too territorial :(

Yup! You got a problem! I have two Angels in a 76 gallon but can not tolerate any more. I was able to get these to to co-hab by removing both from the tank and placing them in the same 5 gallon bucket with circulation pump and a heater capped loosely so it was dark but air could flow for 1 day. During that time I completely changed the rockwork and such. both were then collected and bagged for re-acclimation. After acclimation The rock work provided had two caves and each fish was released to a cave and held there for at least 1 hour (the caves are accually decorated/camo fishtraps I made by taking regular trap and corvering on all sides but two for viewing with rock and sand and shells, etc). Then I released them and at first there was a small bit of chaseing but each had a know place to go that the other would not follow into. After a week no chasing but a dom sub had formed and they co-exist. A lot of work for two pygmy angels I know.
