Hi - just wondering - does anybody have any experience with maroons nipping zoas? I got four frags from the swap, and I think he's nipping at them - not sure whether he's just trying to move them around, or whether he's attempting to EAT them???

OK - my nickname for him is "the engineer" b/c he seems to have definitive ideas about where things should go (rocks, sand, other fish)

...so he was probably just trying to move them.

thanks.

and let me just say, i'm glad he's got no teeth!!! he loves to nip at me, too!

I have had a maroon clown for a few years. The move anything that gets close to his home and is always digging in the sand. which is the only thing I cant stand, but besides that he doesn't touch my corals.

I have had a maroon for 3 years and it has never touched any corals. It does however have a anenome about 8 inches off the sand bed that he hangs out in 24/7. Do you have anything he can host?

I've had a pair of GSM for over a year now. Same experience as the rest: he doesn't bother corals but does move things around. Yesterday he decided to knock off a 2 1/2" rock near his BTA. I was amazed.

Well, I've had this fish for about five years. I don't think he's getting any bigger than he already is. He may have teeth, but if he does, he does not use them on me - only his "gums..." :)

At least, he's never drawn blood!

He totally moves sand and anything else he feels like moving!!! He also moves the other fish in the tank. He is definitely high in the pecking order!

I don't have anything for him to hang out in at this point - I had to wait for great lighting, and now that I've finally got it, I'll be getting him a home!!!! But he is HUGE (maybe 4 inches nose to tail), so i need to find a good size host, too....
