I've had the thing almost 4 years, but as my 120 reef gets more and more cramped I don't think I can resist moving into it. Not sure what to do with all the vegetation....
Dan, I have been debating doing a vivarium or maybe even a paludarium in a empty 60 cube tank I have. How much work do you put into yours a week? My planted tank needs more pruning and attention thand my reef and it's only 30 gallons - don't want to get into another high maintenance set up right now.
Also besides PDFs are there any slightly less demanding critters? I have tons of geckos and green anoles around my house I was thinking of tossing one of those in.
The vivarium takes very little work. Less than a reef or planted tank by far. I've actually decided to do a 4x2x4 vivarium where my 120 currently sits. Vivariums are nice tall.
Keep Ficus pumila out of it, as it is nice but grows way too fast and the time you spend pruning might get to be a pain.
My tank has automatic misters- if you don't have that you probably want to mist every day. I feed the frogs every couple of days. I make new fruitfly cultures every 3 weeks or so. That takes about 15 minutes.
The anoles should do fine. If you have a year round bug supply you can collect your own food. Otherwise they need crickets, which I find more icky than fruitflies.
