In the test kit that you have it should tell you what are the right level for a reef tank buddy. But your calcium is a bit a high it should stay around 420-430.

i know but its different for lps and sps lps like having it a little dirty while sps like it clean thats why it really hard to have sps and lps

You're on the right track with your levels.....not sure about the number you gave for alk (i use dkh and look for somewhere 7-10 range is good)

phosphates are high especially if you are doing sps. If its a newer tank let it keep cycling a bit more before you get to crazy with corals. Just add them slowly and fish so you don't get a huge spike.

Like suggested before just keep reading and learning. There is a ton to know in this hobby and there usually is plenty of solutions to a problem as well as plenty of causes to problems.

alkalinity 179 im assuming is ppm witch come out to around 10 dkh witch is good. you dont want any phosphates. it causes algae and hearts coral growth. Are you using ro water or tap water? if you are using tap that might be why your phosphates are high.

It could be i dont use it so i have no idea whats in it. It could also be the food you are using for the fish. or possibly over feed them.

Try the salifert test kits next time. Also provide your Alk readings in dKH so people don't get confused.
