Ok, I am working on the 180. I am placing a Ocean Motion with four outlets on my return line. That will have 3000gph. Three of the lines will be going over the back of the tank, down the back, under the sand bed with a 90 and a 45 that will spray back up on the rock pillars and wall. The fourth line will be over the back, down the back and attached to a spray bar that is sitting two inches off of the sand bed. That spray bar is just under 4 feet long. There will be a rock wall in front of that. Now, the question I have is where do I place the Vortech 40? It will be set on a random flow pattern from the controller. Do I place it on one end of the tank pushing water the length of the tank or place it on the back wall so that it hits the front glass and gets ricochet around the tank? I am going to do a foam rock wall in the back and sides so I need to know where to leave a gap for the 40. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. And a few years from now when the tank fills in with corals, I know that I might have to add another 40.

i have 2 mp40s on either sides of my 180 and an mp10 on the back.. if you put the mp40 on the back i don't recommend running at full throttle. you also aren't going to get the full potential of the mp40. put it on the side....imo its your best option. save up and get another.
