My Nassarius snails laid thousands upon thousands of eggs on the front glass the other night. I watched it lay the eggs, so I know it was nassarius.

Has anybody here ever heard of nassarius breeding in captivity? Success rates? They laid the eggs on Tuesday night. I figured they'd be long gone by now since it's not like anyone stands guard over them. However, they're still there. I'm curious what the incubation period is too.

When I say there are multiple thousands of eggs, it's no exaggeration.
I feel like I'm on a farm here. My clowns are still standing guard over their most recent clutch of eggs, and now the nassarius eggs.

I'm going to be turning OFF the Barry White tonight.

Yea this happends to me all the time. They have been so abundant in my tank I threw some of them in the sump. I got them about the size of my fingernail, then I start to see the tiny babies pop up outta nowhere. What really get me is how did they get they shells? One of those mysteries of nature I guess.

All with the exception of the barry white of course. lol

Mine also bred multiple times with hundreds of babies. The shells are generated from the Calcium and other minerals in the water kind of like our bone.

Hey Liz, all I have are eggs right now :happysad: Not sure if they'll hatch. If they do, I'm sure they're not going to hatch as adults, they'll be miniscule :bigeyes2: . I would guess it'll be many many months before they are ready to be 'weened'. When they are ready, you'll be first on the list!
