Is it safe for a reef tank? How much would I dose in a Biocube 29 and how often. Want to kill off my algae. Would vodka dosing work as well?

I used Vodka before and it works but you must be extremely careful with it. It lowers Alk also and you must watch your livestock for signs of stress, etc.. I would start with .01 ml per day with your tank for the first 3 days, then double it for days 4-7, then add 0.5 ml every week after if needed. Once the nitrates and phospates level become almost undetectable you take the dose and cut it in half and that will be your maintenance dose. You must test your water frequently and take action accordingly. Hope this helps.

+1 SanmanReefer. You can dose vinegar also, is less aggressive then vodka, the problem w/vodka if dose to much , you will got Cyno. fast, both have very, very strict rule (chart) to dose. Vodka (40%) is 8X stronger than vinegar(5%) . 29 gal. not easy to dose, unless man. But way , d'ont try to find why you got algae (i mean , using bad water?, to much food ? need more circulation ? never siphon the sand ? to much Nitrate and phosphate , never use or change at time Activated Carbon , no protein skimmer ? etc.) Dosing, need time, to see some result (4-6 weeks up.) .

The rock was inherited with a GHA problem. I have rock cooking right now, putting a new skimmer in the tank and I'm waiting for a Fine Media Kit for my CPR Nano reactor to run GFO.

Hydrogen Peroxide is good for getting rid of algae or increasing O2 levels in the water in the event of a power failure. Its considered a poor reefers ozone solution. 1ml for every 10 Gallons is the recommended daily dose.
