Bought a used tank 125gal. And stand for my Oscar, Jack & Plekto. It came with a free fish, and was told it was a freshwater. Could be put with my three. He's huge, aggressive, and a meat eater. Ate all our goldfish lol. Found out its a bumblebee grouper from friends at local pet store. Took him out of large tank and put into 30 gallon, but hes not looking good today. Need advice, please.

Grouper

That is a saltwater fish. Are there any aquariums near you? Or do you know anyone with a larger tank that you can borrow until you find a home for him? You could gradually add some saltwater to it to provide a healthier environment. Are you using an air pump to add oxygen?

That really stinks that you (and the grouper!) got put in this situation. Kudos to you for trying to save the fish!

It's possible to acclimate them to freshwater, not sure why one would do that, but we (people) do stupid things. Same concept as the mollies is saltwater tanks.
The fish will need to be acclimated back to saltwater before being dumped in a saltwater tank.

True, but this is normally seen in younger, smaller BBG's. As they age they are less tolerant of freshwater.

Also agree that slow acclimation back to saltwater would be the proper course of action.
