blowing your circuit out? what does that mean?

Are you saying the chiller is tripping your breaker? if so, you could have a short in the chiller OR you may have connected more electronics recently to outlets that feed of the same breaker. i.e. overload of circuit

If you mean you keep blowing the safety fuse in the chiller then you have a short within the chiller.

Plug the chiller into an outlet thats not in the same circuit. If it trips again, its the chiller, if not....too many devices on one circuit.

I have checked the fuse in the chiller and it's fine I will check another outlet and see if it does the same... I have a 20 amp circuit just for my tank so it must be an internal problem with the chiller or the power strip

Another outlet could be in the same circuit though. You need to make sure that other outlet is not in the same circuit.

If you have the chiller plugged into a power strip I would say the strip is bad. I would plug something with that kind of power draw directly into a wall outlet if possible.

What rating does the breaker on your power strip say?
How many outlets does your power strip have?
Could you list what you have connected to your power strip?
and of those listed, what was actually on when your chiller was running at the time it trips the breaker?
