I have a 120 gal mixed reef tank. I am thinking of buying Aqua C EV 120 Protein Skimmer and install it in the sump. Wondering if anyone can provide +/- for this particular model. Good or bad experiences welcome. I need to make decision in two days.
Any comments appreciated.
Thanks.

Definitely not! I have a 135 gallon and had the aqua c ev180, and it was horrible! I recently upgraded to the ASM G4plus...and im amazed at the difference!

I would say that skimmer is too small for the tank you have. Try bigger, Bermuda Aquatic skimmers is a sponsor here, Try them and check with House of Fish they are a Bermuda Dealer.

Hi,
I guess im the only one who loves it. Have one on my 120 and it really does a fine job. You either love em or hate em from what i hear.
Mine works great. Did up grade the pump, which i think means a lot.
small foot print too.

I am also running EV240 on my 120G. I hated this skimmer for first year, but eversince I upgrade the pump it starts working well. You can use this skimmer as interanl or external, that is only plus I would say.

There are a lots of skimmer perform better than Aqua-C, I would suggest other than Aqua-C. Good luck with your decision.

The Aqua C's are decent but that model is undersized for your tank IMO. I'd go with a ASM G-3 or a Euro-Reef RS135 as a minimum. They are both good and relatively affordable skimmers. If possible even go up one model.

I checked out the Bermuda Aquatics skimmers at MACNA and while the build quality seems nice I don't see them giving anywhere near the performance of the lower end needlewheel skimmers like ASM and Euro-reef.
