fuge lighting schedule

wassup........i just got some chaeto for my fuge in the 12g nano....
how long do u guys keep the light on ......and what kelvin rating should be best for growth?....right now i have a 18w 50/50 lighting both the tank and the back with the fuge......im guessing i should get a seperate light for the fuge.....im having a hard time finding a light that fits about 9" x2 1/2" wide....any diy ideas?

Some people run the refug light 24 hours other run it oppsite the tank, tank on refug off & tank off refug on. I run mine on 24 hours and use 1-55watt 10K PC bulb. You can use a regular plant light on the refug.
