I finally upgraded from my Pro-Heat II to the Finnex Heater (500W) due to the recomendations on this board.
The problem is that when my temp controller (AquaController Jr) shuts the power to the heater's outlet, the settings on the Finnex's controller resets to 80 degrees. i like to use both controllers for the redundancy, but is there a way to keep the finnex controller from resetting to 80? what does everyone else here do?
ideally, i would like to have it set up the way i did with the pro-heat II - i had the heater's controller set about 1 degree above that of my AquaController. so in case the ACjr doesnt shut it for some reason, the heater will shut itself. but i have my tank temp set to 81, and everytime the heater shuts, it comes back on at an 80 setting (which keeps my tank at ~79.6 on my ACjr)
