I finally upgraded from my Pro-Heat II to the Finnex Heater (500W) due to the recomendations on this board.

The problem is that when my temp controller (AquaController Jr) shuts the power to the heater's outlet, the settings on the Finnex's controller resets to 80 degrees. i like to use both controllers for the redundancy, but is there a way to keep the finnex controller from resetting to 80? what does everyone else here do?

ideally, i would like to have it set up the way i did with the pro-heat II - i had the heater's controller set about 1 degree above that of my AquaController. so in case the ACjr doesnt shut it for some reason, the heater will shut itself. but i have my tank temp set to 81, and everytime the heater shuts, it comes back on at an 80 setting (which keeps my tank at ~79.6 on my ACjr)

Set the ACjr at 82 and the Finnex controller at 81.
i know i could do that, but i prefer to the ACjr to be the 'real' controller mainly because i have it set with my fans and everything else. also the tank temp can always still go higher (due to lights, summer heat, etc) and once the ACjr cuts the switch, it will then be reset again to 80. (sometimes when my halides turn on, it throws the ACjr a curve ball and messes up all the values for a few secs) i dont want to always have to worry if it reset, i want to be able to know that it stays where i left it. if there is no way to change that default, i'll probably just have to sell it to someone else and buy myself a different heater...

I have the Finnex controller pictured below. Maybe you could try and trade your electronic controller for the manual adjustment model. I won't reset after losing power.
