Is it a good idea to aim powerheads directly towards these corals? Or should I provide indirect currents? The powerhead isn't that close....it's not like it's blowing them off the rock. Thanks!
Depends how you you want your colony to grow out, and which species. In my tank, SPS exposed to direct laminar flow grow skewed in the direction of the flow, and more robust. Certain species won't tolerate direct current, while others require it. Safe practice is to provide lots of indirect "surging" current.
