Well my 29 is pretty much settled in, with a Marroon clown/anenome and a blenny. I had a six line wrasse that was finally caught and removed for his pod hunger, and now I want to get one more roaming/water column fish. I have been considering an atlantic pygmy angel as they are cool, active, and stay small / or a few green chromis as they will stay near the top and create the movement I am missing now.

Any suggestion for or against the pygmy? Any other small active/interesting fish that would fit the bill here and not consume all my pods?

Thanks in advance,

Dustin

I have a gorgeous Potter's that is one of my tank's leading citizens. I have SPS corals, green star polyp & an anemone (plus the usual assortment of critters) and have seen no evidence of angel-nipping. I won't put in any fleshy LPS corals like an open brain, though, having been convinced that they would be at risk. That is a limitation to keep in mind I suppose.

I really love pigmy angels. I have a cherub, Centropyge arge, which I think is the atlsntic pigmy angel, in my in a tank with clams and all sorts of corals for over a year. I love him he is soo cool.

As they get older, they tend to get territorial, so don't add any fish after him.

Although some people have reported coral nipping problems with the pygmy angels, most do not. Personally, the Fireball and Flameback angels are my favorite because of their beauty, hardiness, and personality. Great fish for a reef! The Fireball, Potters and Coral Beauty may be flashier, but not nearly as hardy in my opinion, and less personality, too!

Check out a Flame Hawk (talk about personality), if you are not stuck on the Angel...or, you could do both if you are comfortable with the bioload.

Good luck,

I love the purple pseudocromis in my tank. Very stunning color, active once settles in, does not hide often, not a active pod hunter and accepts all type of food even the flakes.
