Since Dec 15th my 10 gallon nano has shown 0 ammonia. The nitrates and nitrites have fluctuated ever so slightly but always stay at or under 10 mg/l, usually at 0. I have over 20 lbs. of LR and 20 lbs of dead on arrival LS, and just added a Firefish. I had a ton of green hairy algae but my cleanup crew ate it all (5 Astreas, 2 Turbos, 2 red-leg, and 2 blue-leg hermits)

Is my ammonia ever going to spike? and if the firefish causes a spike, how soon? I would like to see the ammonia at least go up once and clear up before I add my first coral, a Zoanthid.

If you don't test every single day, it's very possible that you missed the event.
