Anyone else have a sea biscuit in their tank?

Just put one in last night. Very interesting. It is like a cross between a sand sifting star and a urchin. Any info on them would be appreciated.

Do you mean a sea apple? If so it is a filter feeding invert. With out constant feeding of the proper things, such as rotifers,green water, gloden pearls it will die. When it does so do all of your fish. If it is a sea apple get rid of it now!

We were shipped one a few weeks back, it looks like an over inflated sand dollar. It slowly wasted away in our tanks, it burries itself in the sand, so i assume that it goes after the sand bed fauna like a sand sifting star. IMO, i'd treat it like a large sand sifting star, best left in the ocean. But, of course, we could be talking about different things...

I attempted to feed it several times, but w/ no success. Good luck with it, although you really should have posted this before you put it into your tank.

I put $20 across the board on Sea Biscuit in the third at the Meadowlands...the nag came in last. (Sorry, I couldn't resist...Nyuk, Nyuk)
