That actually is rare. I have never gotten rocks with 99 percent coraline algea coverage like the one in the picture.

It looks pretty. I just laughed at the part where it said, "very hardy". What is it going to die? It's a rock for christsake! Lol.

If there are any takers on that auction, I'll sell you a piece of very rare cyanobacteria encrusted rock..... very fragile, intact shipping is not guarenteed, but it'll recover, I guarentee you that! Bids start at $9.99 a pound! That's less than $10!

Well, for those old enough to remember. A lot of people out there would pay good money for a smooth rock in a paper box. Come on guys remember the pet rock in the 70's.

That rock does look a little strange though, it looks like that realy porus rock that you get shrooms on sometimes.

OH MAN! Even the kit garuntees live corals from a dry mix... just add your own cement. And people are bidding on this crap!

I told you, you would get a rise from this "rare" find.

And of course he's only got 1 pound to sell

I couldn't resist e-mailing him a question about the piece and asking why it was rare...hmm...no reply to my question yet. I'll hold my breath till he gets back with me...I'm sure it will be real soon.

You guys have to check out his other auctions. You can buy a sharks tooth for 10 bucks. A bag of cement. Dead sea fans that will soften up when you put them in your tank and even wave in the current. He will even sell you a dead sponge and if you want, you can pay extra to have him attach it to some of his rare rock. This guy has all the deals!!

And then there are the urchin spines...do you believe this? Next he'll be selling hermit crab shells as prehistoric fossils...a very rare find!
