You will also find a lot of good info at Reef Centralin their nano forum.
A ten g is a nice size nano. They are easy to find, cheap, and you can retro a PC hood for about $50-75. This would allow you to keep a lot of different things in the tank. As with a larger tank, lighting is a big determiner in what you can keep in the nano.

My only reef is a nano. it's a 15 gal high, which is the same footprint as a 10 gal, but 6" taller. I have enough room for 6" o' soutdown- amazingly enough, one 50 lb bag=6" in my tank! and still have the display area of a 10 gal. for lights I went with two 32w pc, 10k and actinic. with weekly water changes, My skimmer never pulls out any gunk, but it is a nice place to keep my heater and my ph probe.

My 125 is doing fairly well, just a lot of hair algae which my lawnmower blenny is taking care of quite nicely! I want to put a micro reef up in another spot in my house that is a bit bare. What is the best way? What size tank? Lighting?? How about live stock for a micro, etc etc???? Any help would be much appreciated!

i have a 2.5 gallon nano set up. it has 2- 9 watt pc bulbs( minmite).an airstone w/8 inch diffuser for circulation. a 25 watt heater.and a plenum. there is only about 4 inches in the top of the tank for live rock and corals.ive had it set up for almost a year and the life inside is amazing most of it developed on its own. whole set up cost under 100.00
