Hi, I am looking to get the Precision Marine CV626 Venturi Skimmer for my 110gal tank(mixed corals), I was looking to use the Mag1200gph pump(no external pumps for me), how good is the Venturi on this skimmer compared to some other Venturi skimmers where does this stand, like for example the Life-Reef Venturi Models, and does this skimmer work in the sump or does it have to be ouside the sump and above the water line like my current ETS knock-off, I also use a PM Hot-1 on my 46gal and it does a great job, but not to familiar with the CV626 series, anyone here have any experience with them and how do you like it the CV626, maintnance and performance wise how is good is it, was looking at the Euro-Reef but not to happy with just one model pump which is modified to run that skimmer, thanks again.

I'm running a CV426 with a sedra 9000 (same as sen 900). I like it alot... works much better than most 4" class venturis. I would probably run a 626 with a sedra 12000 or mag 12. I think they are really good, especially at the price point they sell at.. maintenance is easy and you have the option to use an auto-waste collector should you choose. My 426 is external, but I know people running them insump with good results. It is easy enough to plumb the output so that it returns above the water line, giving you a constant water level in the skimmer.

one more thing, does the return flow have to be above the water line, my PM Hot-1 return is below the water line, does the return flow have to be above the water line in the sump to work correctly, thanks again.
