Does Reef Crystals contain the proper balance of Magnesium?

I've read that the magnesium level in the salt can affect the Ca reading of test kits. Which brands of salt do contain the proper levels? I can't find any info on this matter

If you mean Reef Crystals as in the brand MFG by the Aquarium System folks I would make one recommendation to you. Call or write them directly. They do tons of ongoing research and although they are a business, my past experience is that they do really care to help. So contact them and see what info they can offer about their product in this area. They are always conducting comparison testing and they publish them in their own journal.
Give them a try and see if they help you.

Reef Crystals contains elevated amounts of certain elements like mg, basically it's IO plus some. Personally I'd use IO cuz it's cheaper, unless you are experience some funky buffer problems.

AFAIK the only salt really deficient in Mg was Coralife. Also Coralife was really lousy batch to batch.

IO and Tropic Marin seem to be the most consitant batch to batch in my opinion.

i think the answer depends on your additives. If you are using a kalk drip then reef crystals probably will benefit. If you are using the B-ionic products or something similar the IO is all you need, so why spend the extra money? - mark

He only reports Seachem as seriously deficient (my words), and Tropic Marine as slightly low (again, my words).
