Not that this will help, but the LFS here has a Corner BF for a show tank which I think is 200 gallons give or take. (I want to say 212, but not sure). They have 4x96 PC's on it if I recall correctly - definatly not enough. In other words, they do come in larger sizes.

Currently I am debating so many different sized tanks, I can't make up my mind. So I was thinking of maby seeing what a corner bowfront tank would be like. They look very sylish and have awesome depth. And if I am right they usually come in a 55g range to 90g range. The only hard part for me is going to be putting mh lights in their how many will I need and will I be able to keep the whole tank lighted with mh lights? What I mean by this is if their will be ample light all around the tank.

If anyone has pics that would be most helpful, as you can see by my other threads I am urgent to buy the "right" equipment.

Thank you,
Circa

I didn't think they came in a bigger size like a 200g, that must be really cool. I still hope to see at least "one" person with one of these corner tanks. I have seen the tanks at my lfs, but I am curious to see what members on the board here have done with them. As far as landscaping and lighting...

I ahve always really liked the look of the tank myself. But i have never seen one filled up, i have always imagined them to be distorted. Does anyone haev one to tell me how they really look filled up.
I think it would look kind of cool if you built it into kind of like a cave and then kept alot of low light corals on the bottom then on the top of the cave you can keep your SPS or whatever.

Yep, hopefully someone will come through and show us some pics and answer our questions. But from what I have heard and seen the bow is not really distorted at all. I think its not as bad as people may think because of the curved glass.

Well I don't have a shot handy, but I have a 92 gallon bow front corner tank and there is no noticeable distortion at all. They are very nice tanks! I have a 150 HQI MH, and 1 96W smartlamp on mine.

One mh?!

They must not be to wide, how wide is yours JimM? Don't they say one mh light every two feat, that seems about right on a bowfront. You must have awesome depth can you describe it?

The one at the LFS only seems to distort if you are standing on one far side of it and try to look at something on the opposite side. Not enough to make me not want one if that helps..

I have a 95gal pentagon, Fits in the corner like the bow front. It's acrylic so It is flat in the front with molded corners that meet the side walls. It's definately a better shape to get than the bowed front. I run one 250w blueline MH positioned in the middle of the hood and three, three foot VHO's in front of that. Definately tons of light. I don't know how you feel about acrylic, but I would never go back to glass after having one.

I also have a 92 corner bowfront, and love it! It makes for way more interesting arrangements than my 100 breeder. For now it is just a FOWLR and mushrooms, and I only have 2 65 watt smarlights across the front behind the lid. Once I build a bigger home for my juve. emperor I plan on hanging a 250w MH and some actinic pc's above it, then making it into a reef. If someone can advise me on taking a full tank dig. picture I will post some. And NO, no distortion unless you stick your face on the glass and look across it.
