Anyone tried or know if its possible to drill a hole through a rubbermaid sump? im talking about the plastic ones, not the fiberglass.

Sure is and easy too! I just drilled it with a hole bit in a drill. Place in bulkhead and tighten, Done!

Yup do it all the time. I use a metal hole saw on a drill and it works great just don't press too hard

thanks guys! you see, i have a cpr cy 192 biolfilter, there's no room in that sump for decent skimmer, so im looking for alternatives. It think im gonna go for a euroreef for my 100 gallon. Makes you wonder why people pay so much for sumps

When I added a rubbermaid tub to my system I cut the hole with an old steak knife. The tubs are not hard to cut, especially if you draw a circle to guide you.
Since it was a low-budget project I didn't even spend the extra money for true bulkheads. I used the pvc connectors that have threads, one on each side of the tub, with rubber gaskets one each side between the connector and the side of the tub.
