Hello,

Just came to mind that there is alot of people commented on this skimmer both good and bad. However, I notice something strange...I dont know what notice is correct or not. So, I like to get some stats.

I notice that out of all those who used Red Sea Prizm and say it is a good skimmer has a minimum size of tank or 25g or above. And for those who uses this skimmer and say it is a bad skimmer are those are keeping nano reef. usually 20g or less.

Therefore, I would like to know everyone who uses or used this skimmer. What is the tank size that the skimmer is used on. And what is your comment on this skimmer.

Thanks,
Bud

We use them on tanks 75 gal and below, there is a new prizm out quite a bit bigger but we haven't tried it yet. They a touchy to adjust so when we clean them we unplug them to keep the setting just right. Take care, Terry

I have one on a 30 long and i am pleased with it. I have a fairly decent bioload and it pulls out quite a bit of stuff. I agree they are touchy. I like them because they are not thick and fit nicely behind a tank. Good buy but can do better but that all depends on your budget.

I have one on my 29 and am very happy with it. I havent found it touchy, but I guess Im in the minority based on other responses. I marked the best postion for air intake, and simply move around this mark as I need to shut it off or turn it up etc. I give 5 out of 5 stars for functionality, noise level, ease of use, maintenance, and value.

Mine is on a 65gal. with a fairly light bio-load. Befor my 90 wet all over the carpet the Prizm was on it. It did really well, but again the bio-load was pretty light.

I also run a prizm on my 55 gallon. At first I thought it was a waste of money and was thinking that I should have spent the extra money on a Berlin. But lately it's been pulling off a thick foam and leaving behind lots of thick dark liquids. I'm very satisfied and I'm even thinking of moving it to my 75 Gallon when I finally have the time to set it up.

I think they are a great skimmer for the money. Just what is needed for a 50 gallon or below. I have two and have run them on about all my tanks. Once they are set properly they'll do a good job. They've worked on an 18, a 30, a 40, and a 55. All these were very lightly stocked. I tryed it on a heavily stocked 40 gal and it couldn't quite keep up.
