How many of you run a UV sterilizer

wondering how many of you run a UV sterilizer, and if you like it or not? i'm thinking about hooking one up to my 10 gallon refugium that i have placed under my 55 gallon stand. it's a power compact type UV sterilizer.

what would be my:

Pros?

Cons?

UV sterilizers kill bacteria including the beneficial bacteria that you need to substain a healthy aquarium IMO.

Hooking up a UV sterilizer to a refugium will completely negate the benefits of having one. Pros of an UV sterilizer is the killing of water borne diseases (bacterial, viral, fungal, protozoan, etc.) and algae spores. The con of an UV sterilizer is it kills everything else that passes through it, including plankton and larvae from your refugium.
