Aragonite Sand

Has anyone heard of the fine grain aragomax going BAD?...Causing the water to turn cloudy, and smell bad?...Well i have about 100lbs of it, and I BELIEVE IT made my water turned clowdy over a period of time of over 1 month...I done numerous water changes. and .....my RO/DI system is producing 0ppm on my TDS..and imma bit puzzled on this...
WATER PARA ARE GOOD...

ANY INSIGHT....????????

Does it smell like rotten eggs? it sounds that your sand bed has gone anerobic. how deep is it and what size tank?

Did you have crystal water before you added the aragonite? if so did you wash it? what mechanical filtration do you employ?

yes the water was very clear...my RO/Di gave me a reading of 0ppm with TDS...and my sand was washed. Thats what im afraid of, that it might of not got the cleaned thoroughly enuff..

do you run any filter floss, wool, i dont know what you call it over there? what chemical filtration? i know your gear but what does mechanicl filt?

Well, I have carbon running on my 2 Emperors..and i have a fine filter floss on my wet dry....and im to the point of pulling our the Sand Bed...and tossing it.....

So the tank was set up without sand and you added it? And that made the water cloudy?

Or the sand was added when the tank was started? And if so why do you think the sand is responsible for the cloudyness.

How long has the tank been set up?

The tank has been setup for about 6 months....after like 3-4 months, i noticed a slight change in the coloration...before long the cloudiness took over, and now for some reason i cant clear it up. The sand aragonite sand has always been in there...

Just as i said in my previous posts, I changed everything in my tank except my sand..so thats how i came to the conclusion that it may be my sand

Yes i sure do, but they are not in the same tank ..i have everything seperated at this time

Dump the sand? your l/rock will be your biological filtration

cal 440, ph 8.2, ammonia 0, nitrates, nitrites 0
