im removing the wet dry in my sump, and i am not sure how to plum the overflow line. i was wondering how you guys have your return (from the overflow) entering the sump if you have no wet dry. i currently have a oceanic aga with corner overflow and the float thing that comes with the accesory kit. i figure i am going to plumb the overflow from tank to sump with ridged pvc, but i have a few questions concerning the creation of bubbles when the high velocity water enters the sump:
1. do you have the pipe above or below the water level in the sump?
2. do you have any baffels or special bubble impeding devices?

diagrams and pics would be great, but verbal descriptions are fine.

The answers will depend on the size of your sump. I typically return under the water level. The bubbles created are usually of such large size that there is no issue with them making it to the system pump. If your sump is very small, that might not be true, but I would be surprised if it was an issue (I think you'd need a really small sump).

Typically folks have a tougher time with skimmer bubbles making their way back. If you aren't having any problems there, it's unlikely you'll have problems from the return bubbles.

the sump is a diy with a rubbermaid container, about 40 gal. at regular level, 60 gallons if filled to the brim. It is below a 75 gal. tank and contains a berlin turbo skimmer and carbon filtration. the return pump is a mag7 . there are currently no baff fles etc.
i have a small problem with the bubbles from the skimmer returning to the tank. not real bad, but enough to be annoying.
