I was just advising Warlock that my Kent Nautulus is also run by a RIO 2100, but SmokinReefer, and others, have advised me to get rid of it for various reasons...

I am a cheapskate, trapped in a rich mans hobby...

So I am finally going to make the change. I could do hours of my own research and carefully pick the perfect pump.
But it's always easier to just ask someone else

75 gallon, medium bio-load, about a year old...

Let the suggestions roll....

ROTFL So true

I would look towards a mag7 to replace it, or possibly a sen pump

I agree, the Mag 7 is good if you can find one in stock, or the Dolphin DP80 is also good but huge.

I have heard the Mags, and they are pretty loud.

Has anyone ever used a CAP 1800 ?

I looked at those online, but no information was given about them.

I wouldn't use a Quiteone. Mine failed in less that a year! I running a mag 9.5 and it is loud. I thinking of getting a dolphin 2100, but that's to run my return, not my skimmer.

HUh, mabe I am going deaf. I have two mag pumps (12 & 7) and they seem to be loud to me. Mabe that is all I am used to. But they don't seem any louder than the capp pump I used to have. As long as it is not a rio you will be alright. 8)
