what are cockle's???????

im always looking to give my fish the most varied foods i can,
and saw frozen cockle in shell in a catalog.
what are they and how big, or are they for specialized feeders and
i dont need them??

clams in shell- for those that benefit from chompin at the whole critter, like puffers or triggers
