I was getting ready to try the Durso standpipe when I was wondering if this would actually solve my problem. My question is this to all of you out there that use it. Does it make noise at the sump? Right now I have an AGA over flow and it works "ok" but every few minutes a big air bubble goes down and it releases in the sump to make a bubbling noise. So what I was wondering does the Durso make the same noise? Since it to sucks in air? Thanks So very much..

I had this exact same problem. It has nothing to do with the standpipe. Its either 1 of 2 things.
1) your pump isnt keeping up with your overflow
2) this is what it was for me, I cut the tube that went down to my sump so that it was straight, no bends anywhere, and this has fixed my problem.

Thanks for your reply Tony...

I don't think it's #1 because the water level is higer than my slots. I'll try #2. I have Flex tubing coming down and around the inside of the sump.. 8O

I would say take the bends out of the plumbing....

I am gonna replace mine with flex PVC. i am using drain hose and have it draped in the sump. i get a gurgle every now and then... not likei did with the AGA overflow....

check out my site and see how i have mine rigged

I would say it is in your plumbing as well. Any bend or loop adds backpressure to water trying to drain out (air gets trapped). You'll have a buildup of water in the overflow chamber until enough pressure is created to force this trapped air out of the drain pipe. This is the sudden burping of your drain pipe.

The Durso standpipe will only quiet down your overflow chamber. Does nothing at all for your sump. If anything it makes your sump seem louder as you'll be able to hear it finally.
