What's the point of the bio-tower? The last thing I would want in a system is something that encourages nitrates.

If you look at the pictures of the tank itself, you'll see it is one of those tanks with fake corals. LIkely it is that he is going to stock it with fish only. Likely the owner is someone that knows nothing about saltwater tanks and just wants something pretty to look at. I pressume ScottC works for a company that makes these and is likely to be staffing the maintenance of it. Correct me if I am wrong.

I figured that...it looks a lot like LivingColor or something like that. I guess you need it for something...but even in FO systems you shouldn't have a huge buildup of nitrate, IMO.

The title of my post should give that away "1100 gallon RUBBER REEF"

Regular plastic wire clips screwed into the drywall.

That's exactly who I work for. I posted the pics not as an advertisement, but as eye candy for people who aspire to have a huge system in their home and the space to have a pump room. Even if it is a rubber reef it's still a cool tank to look at, plus it's huge. The guy who's getting it has no clue about saltwater fish but is interested in learning and has a pile of new books. I say good for him and wish him well. I started out with a 20 gallon tank, a book, and thought the fish were "pretty" once, too.

The tank is 6.5' high on a 1' stand for a total of 7.5'. It's about 10' long and the front curves out to 4.5'. The acrylic is 2.5" thick. There is a canopy that will touch the bottom of the ceiling to the left in the picture with an access hatch on the right. Lighting consists of 2 175 MH bulbs and 4 55w actinics. The total cost was about a buck thirty.

I really like those sumps too, I'm using rubbermaid wash basins now, but they only hold about 13g each..

Hopefully on Monday we'll have it running. Tuesday I'm in LA to setup our showroom in W. Hollywood. I'll try to get pics of both if anyone is interested.

Where did you get the RO water container and what was the cost? How much does that hold? I've been looking for a tall skinny water storage container like that for a while.

Looks very nice!

Your best bet is to try a plastics supply house locally. They run from $100 to $1000 depending on the size and shape.

I would really hate to own a tank like that. Maintenances must be horrible because the fake coral will soon be covered with algae. Then it will look terrible. Boy if I can spend 130K on my reef tank. I can really have a dream tank. Reef all the way for me. None of this FO with fakes coral.
Scott, are you setting this up for somebody or is it for you?
How are you going to clean the fake coral? Can you take them out and soak them in bleach?
