Has anyone here used the red sea calcium test kit. I normally use the natu reef one but they didnt have it and this is a much simpler test. My question is with the red sea kit is it calibrated to a salinity of 1.023. My salinity is 1.024 and with the natu reef you would have to take that in consideration. Anyways it reads my calcium is 350 but I know its higher because I have been dripping kalk like crazy to maintain alkalinity and calcium.

I use to use the Red Sea Calc test but had the same problem with calc always reading ~350, wether I was dosing Seachem Calcium or not.
Finally switched to Salifert and found my calc was realy 410 but my Alk was low.

Point is I don't feel the Red sea test kits for Calc or ALk are that acurate or reliable. I've goten much more acurate and relibale results from Salifert.

red sea's test kit's reputation is fairly lacking, to say the least

i'd second the recommendation for one of the 'big three'-salifert, hach, or lamotte
