best bottom dwelling fish

can you guys give me some ideas on a good bottom dwelling fish that would be good for my 65 gallon reef....currently i have about 90LBS LR and 3-4 inch sand bed..........running 3 powerheads and a fluvual 303 with just carbon and a prism skimmer soon to be remora pro.......livestock is 3 blue/green chromis, purple firefish, false perc clown,......i want to add a bottom dweller and some one who will scoot in and out of the rocks........i will be housing mostly LPS and softies, mush,polyps......if you could recomend a good bottom dwelling fiosh that would be cool..i have been looking at the yellow watchman goby,citron goby or perhaps a jawfish.......

Yellow watchman is really nice. The citron goby and jawfish won't do much scooting, however. The citron just stays in acro heads and doesn't move much, and the jawfish digs itself a hole where it peers out of all day long.

Scooter blennies obviously scoot Sand-shifting gobies are also good bottom dwellers, but I'd stay away from them since they completely decimate your sandbed life. Blennies are good choices for bottom dwellers. Some nice ones IMO are Bicolor Blennies, Midas Blennies, and Altosalarius fuscus (not sure the common name). Hawkfish also sit on the floor for most of the time. They're good choices if you don't have shrimps. I love flame hawks.

The Watchman Goby is neurotically shy in my tank. I'd go with something else if you want to see them much.

I like my prawn goby alot. Although not as pretty as others, he has a really neat personality. As soon as anyone approaches the tank, poof, out he comes from the darkness, gawking around looking for dinner, or maybe just to see who the human intruder is. He's no problem with the feather dusters and other denizens.

well shrimp goby combos look really cool on the bottom of tanks....but not much movment

and as for jawfish i wouold say they are a mid water fish becuase they will hover over there caves about midway hight of the tank if they are happy. since you want happy fish and they will die easy if they arent happy i would say jawfish arent what you are lookin for..

if you want the coolest bottom fihs i say the twin spot otherwise know as the signal goby ...stays only on the bottom and such a cool lookin crazy fish that is peacefull except to other bottom dwellers....

just a though..but look into them you will be happy..stirs sand to!

I had two scooters for a long time. They were the popular ones in my tank. People liked that they hada personallity and the way they kida, well scooted. Fun to watch and not shy at all. They are always on the move. Also after dark if you like to look at your tank with a flashlight you can play find the scooters. They bury themselfs up to their eyeballs. Kind hard to spot. 8O

How 'bout a royal gramma? Cheap, colorfull, hangs out in the rocks. Not much scooting, but hey, can't win 'em all. As far as scooting goes, I think hawkfish would be your best bet (not much else to do but scoot w/out a swimbladder!). Just make sure that the tank is sealed up tight and you don't have any tastly looking shrimp.

I have a yellow watchman, and he is the best!!!!

He hangs out in my rock or on the sand and looks out the tank at you.

He eats good and I don't find him very shy at all.

Just my $0.02.

Go with a Bi-color Blenny, the one i have is full of personality and almost does tricks for me. Very attractive and entertaining.
