my lfs just got my tank in and it is thick, i think 1/2 inch or more. he said it had to be because there is no center brace which i asked for. i didnt know it was going to be so thick and heavy and now i am worried about my floor.

i guess i am too used to thin glass like my 29 gallon tank.

1/2" glass for a 100 gallon perimeter braced tank is about right. My 120 gallon is 1/2" glass.

Compared to the water, substrate, and equipment, the tank weight is probably not going to make or break your floor. It is a good idea to get a professional over to inspect your floor support before you set up such a heavy tank.

my 100 galon has no middle brack and glass a little thicker the 1/2 inch....this is because i got it custom made...and i hate and do i mean hate middle brackets..........as for the weight the glass adds alot..my tank is at least 200 pounds empty...what type of floor is this going on? carpet? hardwood?, tile(as mcuh as i doubt it) if its hardwood you could see an indent as 3 friend of mine had there 100 120 and the mother 180 indent there hardwoodfloor a bit on the one side.

anyways jsut food for thoguh
