Hello,
I have read previous posts but need clarification. I just started a quarantine tank yesterday using aged seawater from my reserve. The tank is a 10 gallon with no substrate. The filter is a hang on the back with only a foam square in it for debris.

Today, I brought home my first two fish for my 47 that has cycled for 3 months. I am hoping that I did not have to cycle the quarantine tank. The salinity is 1.024 and the temp is 77 degrees.

Will I run into trouble when there is left over food or waste from the two fish.

Please let me know any suggestions you have.

You just have to really watch it closely, as it's very easy for the water parameters to get way out of whack super quick. I always do a water test every other day, and I would change out a gallon of the ten everyday. Feed as lightly as you can, preferably smaller amounts more often then one or two larger feedings. I also syphon out the bottom of the tank every 3-4 days. Or you can syphon out 1 gallon everyday and then replace the water.
Good luck!
p.s what kind of fish did you buy?
