Does anyone here have a blenny with their clams? have you had any problem with them trying to nip your clams. I was thing about getting one. But I don't want one if they nip clams. I had a black figi blenny and he would nip my clams.

IIRC a true lawnmower Salarias fasciatus won't bother clams but if you flip through the blenny section of Scott Michael's book there is a caribbean blenny that does have a clam fetish but the species escapes me at the moment.

I had a black figi blenny that I had to get out of a 135 once. he was good at first then decided he wanted clam meat. I wonder if that was the one in Scott Michael's book? I don't have that book.

My lawnmower blenny shows no interest either. Although he likes to pearch on it about once a week. The clam doesn't even seem to mind anymore and has never shown any ill effects. When the clam gets tired of being used as a perch, it closes a little and the blenny takes off.

Ok, Sounds like the lawnmower will be a nice addtion to my reef. what do you feed yours when there is not much algae for them to eat. I heard some say they feed theirs formula one.
