Epicystis crucifer, formerly known as Phymanthus crucifer. Also known as 'rockflower anemone.'

Comes from the caribbean area (or is it carribean area? My spelling is getting atrocious). Considered hardy and relatively easy to keep as anemones go.

LordNikon,
Careful of putting flower anemones in your reef. I have seen them sting other corals. The do not necessarily stay where you put them.
Cool as some of them are, I don't suggest it. By all means though, set up a seperate anemone tank and do some. If you think bubble anemones (Entacmea quadricolor) comes in lots of nice colors, the flower anemones come in even more color variations and are easy to keep (very adaptable to different lighting intensities).

They have an extremely potent sting. Plus they are Carribean and will not get along well with anemone fishes. The are hardy and hail from shallow water. However they appear to rely more on feeding than light.

Nope, don't stay small.

I've got one, started maybe a handspan in diameter in December, now almost 50% bigger diameter...

I have 3 flower anemones in my reef and they seem to be model citizens. I have a pair of rose bubbletips and a purple LTA as well. All of the flower anemones have stayed exactly where I put them at the base of the rocks. All have stayed about 6" in diameter for several years. They don't host any of my clownfish and all my fish pretty much stay away from them so no problems there.

That's my experience.

I think one would be fine in a 12 gallon nano personally. I plan on putting one in my 40 gallon office tank when I get it up and running. I have one of the orange ones from Reeftopia as well as a green with purple center and a plain whitish one with stripes. I've never seen these over 6" diameter.

Hdtran listed the proper scientific name in the first reply to this post - Epicystis crucifer.

Not much on google on them though.
