I have a 55g, packed with live rock. About a month ago, I added a yasha goby and previous to him I had a jawfish. Both jumped out. Could it be there is just not enough room on the bottom for them? I had the top fairly
well covered I thought, a couple small openings for cords, but they both found them. Is the tank just too skinny for these timid bottom dwellers?
They both jumped about a month after being in the tank, they were eating well, and acclimated very slowly, but both kept moving from burrow to burrow almost daily, like they just couldnt find a spot to call home. I think they were just too close to the front glass and it made them uncomfortable.

That may be, yes. But, is it also possible that there may be something in there that's driving them to the surface and out? (Think brittle star or other predator/competitor for that space.)
