Got my Calcium Reactor yesterday, and have been getting everything all hooked up and ready to go, and realized that I have no idea where to measure the pH from my controller. I have a Milwaukee 122 controller, and I know that you need to set it around 6.5, but I don't understand where to take the sample from. I keep reading to take it from the effluent, but I'm stumped as to how to do this. Do I place the probe in the sump directly bellow where the effluent is dripping? Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks, Rocky.

Use a cup to catch effluent and put the probe in the cup

I prefer to measure tank dkh, vs effluent dkh & flowrate

measuring the effluent ph will only tell you if it's optimal for disolving aragonite, it wont tell you how much calcium the reactor is adding to the tank

The controller is to prevent excess CO2 from driving the tank pH down. If set at low end pH 8.0-8.1 it will shut off solenoid on CO2 tank and keep you in a safe range. Years ago I had a faulty regulator without controller that dropped my tank pH to 6.5. The corals and fish don't like that too much.
You can check your effluent from the reactor by placing the probe in a cup of fresh effluent. The probe should normally be in the sump (or tank) in an area of flow to get an accurate reading.
Hope that helps.
