I put an ozonizer on my 125 gal reef about 2 weeks ago. It's fed into an asm g3 skimmer and controlled by my aquacontroller. When I first hooked up the orp probe it was in the mid 200's if I remember right, and the ozone definately helped skimmer production and the orp started going up a little every day. Now the ozone hasn't even been on for the past week and ORP is still increasing, it's at ~460 right now. The controller's high point for the ozone was 365 and I even unplugged it to make sure that it wasn't still on by some crazy chance. I also have all the skimmer water passing through carbon (pura media) and I've tested the tank for residual O3 but there was none. I've read on a thread somewhere else that 460 is pushing too high, but I really haven't been able to find any other numbers on it. Is this too high? If not what is the danger level?

ORP is a touchy subject, and I avoid it even if I have a 8 ft pole. Obviously the ORP reading does not corresponse to your O3 usage, and this is another reason why some people swear by it, while other does not bother to take ORP reading even if they have a meter. It can be very confusing, and I will leave this to the ORP people. Good luck.

Oh, what is your pH? By increase the pH, you can knock down the ORP pretty well.
