Hi all,

In case any of you were wondering how my upside down jelly is doing after I messed up during a water change and subjected him to osmotic shock (most likely culprit), here are a few movies I took this morning before coming to work. They are in Quicktime format --

I now have 13 of these guys -- 12 new 'babies' and Squishy Jelly who has miraculously survived all the bad things I could possibly do to a jelly (including getting sucked into a filter and stuck against filter sock)

As you can see, he's happy and not as sedentary as some would think. I cleaned the filter on my halogen light and the increased light really got them all excited, crowding around the surface doing their squishy thing.

I hope you enjoy and as always, comments are appreciated!

Those are nice jellies!

How did you get the babies? I have no clue how they reproduce. I had mine for more than a year and no babies... do you have more than one?

Also, I noticed that yours swims around. Does it do that often? Mine lies on the sand most of the time and goes for a swim only once a month or so.

He ususally isn't that active -- I think it was because this was just after the water change and cleaning the light.

The reproduce both sexually and asexually. I got all the little ones from some LR that I've had in my 25g for about a year. When I put it in the 15gal, it started sprouting hydroids and then some jellies mixed in.

This is that same rock that the jellies originally came from. It was curing in a 10gal tank and next thing I know *boom* jellies. I had about 60 really small ones but in a move we lost all but the big one.

We've been sucking em out of the 15 with a piece of airline tubing and putting them in the 1gal. So far we have 12 little ones and the big one (Squishy)
