Can a pistol shrimp crack a glass tank?

I have a slight problem. I ordered a pistol shrimp by mail for my nano cube. I know they aren't supposed to crack tanks and lots of people have them, but just in case it does, it's only 10 gallons of water.

But I also told my LFS guy I wanted a pistol shrimp and he ordered one for me. So I'm thinking of putting it in my 75 gallon.

Can a pistol shrimp crach a tank?

Okay, I suppose it's theoretically possible. I haven't heard of any stories that were firsthand though.

i thought the same thing when i got a pistol shrimp but found out that it is actually the mantis shrimp that breaks glass and not the pistol shrimp.

Wow, I had no idea there was a crayfish craz. I know I thought they where pretty cool once, then I moved on to the 4th grade

Pistol shrimps can't crack glass. The clicking sound they make is not from the big claw snapping together, but rather a tiny ultrasonic air bubble this action creates. This stuns its prey. Mantis shrimps, on the other hand, will beat its prey

I always thought geek meant socially inept, but smart.
